Pink amethyst is a special variety of quartz found primarily in Argentina. Where amethyst contains iron impurities, pink amethyst instead contains large hematite inclusions that give it a distinct pink-rose color. Raw pink amethyst can also contain other colors like brown or green depending on inclusions of other trace minerals or oxidized metals.

Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony that forms inside pockets of metamorphic and volcanic rock, with the initial layer that forms and the surrounding minerals and conditions affecting subsequent layers and giving agate its wide variation in appearance. Flower agate contains further inclusions of chalcedony that form branching fractal patterns resembling flowers.
