Nephrite contains higher quantities of minerals like tremolite and actinolite, and comes in a variety of shades of green, as well as a very pale yellow called mutton fat jade in China. Nephrite has been used in ornamental carving and jewelry by cultures all over the world for thousands of years, including New Zealand, southeast Asia, and the Pacific coast of North America.
