Charoite is a purple silica mineral that is only found in one part of Siberia. Typically a transparent lavender or purple with a pearly luster, charoite can sometimes display chatoyance similar to tiger’s eye. Charoite formed when a syenite intruded into a limestone deposit in Siberia and caused it to undergo metamorphism, and common inclusions include black aegirine or augite and green feldspar.
