Azurite is one of two common copper minerals, with the other being malachite. As azurite can be unstable when exposed to open air, it sometimes gets partially replaced by malachite when the stone undergoes weathering for long periods of time. This azurite and malachite comes from the Morenci Mine in Arizona.
