Moissanite Diamonds

Moissanite is made of silicon carbide and created to look like diamonds. It is challenging to tell apart a moissanite from a real diamond. Moissanite is a common diamond alternative because it is more affordable, has a brilliant rainbow light reflection, and is almost as hard as diamond. Moissanite is a superior gemstone that will always stay bright and beautiful. Unlike other diamond alternatives, moissanite never loses its sparkle or brilliance over time due to its hardness and refractive index.

While moissanite has a very similar appearance to diamonds, they have many key differences. Moissanite weighs 15% lighter than real diamonds. Moissanite is typically sold by width in millimeters rather than carat weight.  Moissanite is a gemstone born from the stars. It was first discovered in 1893 by French scientist and Noble Prize winner, Henri Moissan. He discovered microscopic particles of the gem in a crater created by a meteorite that fell to Earth. He initially thought that he had discovered diamonds, but later determined that the crystals were composed of silicon carbide. Moissanite that is available today is laboratory-created making it more ethical and eco-conscious than its diamond counterpart.

These moissanite diamonds range from 7.8-8.0mm in size.

These are a "D" on the color grading scale.
