Angelite is the trade name for a special variety of anhydrite found mostly in Peru. Anhydrite crystals are the result of gypsum coming into contact with water that then evaporates, leaving these crystals behind. Peruvian anhydrite is mostly pale blue in color, although it will often contain white or brown inclusions as well.
