Petrified Wood: Palm Wood

Psaronius braziliensis from the Araguaina Petrified Forrest of the Aranhao Province, Brazil with wonderful cell structure.

Petrification starts with three raw ingredients: wood, water and mud and turns into stone. Here the wood may take a variety of forms; it may be agate, jasper, chalcedony or opal.

Petrified wood limbs have been sawn and polished in Madagascar also. See Petrified wood logs below.
