Fluorite Mineral:
Fluorite is a mineral with a bouquet of brilliant colors. Fluorite is well known and prized for its glassy luster and rich variety of colors. The blue, green and yellow varieties of fluorite are also deeply colored, popular and attractive. Though much too soft to be a fine jewelry mineral, hardness 4.0 on the Moh's scale, it is extensively used in carvings, in interior decorating and inexpensive art objects.

The name fluorite comes from the Latin fluere which means to flow. This name comes from the fact that fluorite melts easily.
